Polyelectrolyte is a strong polymer based coagulant specifically designed for partial or complete settling of organics, water soluble matters and suspended solids in the effluent or waste water through electro neutralization and bridging absorption. Bridging absorption occurs when long chain polymers get absorbed on the particles in a pattern such that it forms loops and tails extending some way in the solution. At this stage, particles are said to be restabilized. Absorbed amount must be optimum otherwise enough bridging contacts couldn’t form. This consideration results in the necessity for an optimum dosage of the product for formation of bridging flocculation. Polyelectrolyte can be differentiated into 3 types based on the charge present on it. These are Anionic Polyelectrolyte, Cationic Polyelectrolyte and Non-Ionic Polyelectrolyte. Flocculation generally occurs due to these charges present on the particles. In practical cases, charges are present on the impurity particles and electrostatic interaction occurs between these particles and polyelectrolyte. Polyelectrolyte, offered by Chemtex Speciality Ltd. is a high performance flocculant, decolorant, and effective in algae growth inhibition and organics removal. It usually enjoys a small dosage but can be able to cause big flocs, rapid precipitation and low turbidity residues. It finds applications in variable sectors such as water treatment, textiles, cosmetics, mining, paper making, soil treatment, oil industries etc. |

Chemtex Speciality Limited manufactures a varied range of chemicals that are used for the effluent treatment, amongst which Flocculants Chemical has a crucial role. Flocculants Chemical is formulated specifically to be used in the effluent treatment processes for helping in the removal of solids, lime softening, water clarification, solids dewatering and sludge thickening. Flocculants Chemicals are agents that promote flocculation by causing colloids and other suspended particles in liquids to aggregrate and forming a floc. This product helps in improving the sedimentation or filterability of small particles. Flocculants Chemical include three variants of products depending upon their properties and the application of use. These include - Anionic, Non-Ionic and Cationic Flocculants Chemical. |

Effluent treatment chemicals consist of coagulants and flocculants. While the Coagulants essentially function for primary settling of suspended solids, the Flocculants perform for the secondary settlement of particles. While Coagulation is done with the help of Alum (Ferric / Non-Ferric), Ferrous Sulfate, Ferric Chloride, PAC (Poly Aluminum Chloride) etc.; Flocculation is done with Polyelectrolytes such as Polyacrylamides (Anionic, Cationic and Non-ionic), Polyamine, PolyDADMAC etc. Coagulants such as alum, PAC (poly aluminum chloride), ferric chloride, ferrous sulfate etc are used and from the organic range products like poly DADMAC, polyamine and poly DCDA are used. The selection of these flocculants is based on the type of application, system parameters and the type of effluent. The Coagulant is ideally utilized in divergent industries for the process of flocculation. |
